The Association has a Mercedes Sprinter van for full members’ use. Hire may only be authorised for use within the UK. If you have had any driving convictions or insurance claims (regardless of fault) in the last five years, you must contact us before booking – an additional insurance premium may apply. Drivers must be aged between 30 and 70 – if you fall outside this age range, please contact us prior to booking, as an additional insurance premium may apply.

Daily Hire Charge – £45 per day (Each 24 hours, or parts thereof) which includes fuel for up to 25 miles per day.

Please specify your pick up and drop off time in the ‘Additional Driver Details’ box below. If your preferred collection/return date is unavailable, please email our office at info@lbsra.co.uk to confirm if a late collection/early return is possible (eg if another member is using the vehicle earlier or later that day).

Van hire is an exclusive benefit available to Ordinary Members, not available for Associate Members.

If you have had any driving convictions or insurance claims (regardless of fault) in the last five years, you must contact us before booking – an additional insurance premium may apply.

There are six simple steps to enjoy your van hire:

1. Click on the calendar to select your hire date(s). Your start date should be the preferred collection date, and the end date should be the preferred return – use the form to complete your collection and return times. We ask that you only book the vehicle for the period required to maintain availability for other members. The hire fee will be based on each 24 hour period covered, or part thereof – we take a deposit of £45 (£55 if you select the insurance waiver) to secure your booking which will be credited against your final invoice.

2. Fill in all sections of the van booking form below the calendar.

3. Share your driving licence details with us using the online checking service. Please visit the following link to request a ‘check code’: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

When you have obtained the ‘check code’ please email or Whatsapp us photos (for each designated driver, who must be a full LBSRA member):

  1. the DVLA check code
  2. photographs of the front and rear of your driving licence.
  3. confirm that you have no driving convictions or insurance claims (regardless of fault) in the last five years.

Please note that you are required by law to advise us of any changes to your licence or circumstances. We will check your licence at the time of booking, but you must be eligible to hire the van at the time of use.

4. Pay for your hire.  We will email you an invoice for the deposit of £45/£55 when we have received all the above details from you.

Unfortunately we can’t confirm any hires until we have received payment. Your booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable in the case of cancellation within one month of the hire date.

5. Enjoy your hire

Sign out the keys from the team at 28 York Place (Usually 9am-9pm), enjoy your hire and return the vehicle fuelled, clean and ready for the next hirer. Don’t forget to carry out safety checks before and after your hire. If required, you can leave your own vehicle in the space vacated by the van during your hire – please reserve this when booking the van.

6. Complete the sign out and sign in forms using the QR code in the vehicle. We will send you an invoice for the hire, fuel, charged at 25p per mile, less your deposit, which must be paid within 7 days of invoice. Your hire includes 25 miles of fuel per day.
